Does the stability return if you downgrade to an earlier version of mesa? For your convenience we've packaged the prior version in the x-retro ppa:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-retro If that fixes it, then this is indeed a regression. There was a bunch of new 3D support added for R200's so perhaps this introduced some bug or other for you. If that is the case, would you be willing to do a git bisect to help isolate which change introduced the problem for you? If you can, we should be able to get this solved for Karmic. ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: karmic regression-potential ** Tags added: crash ** Summary changed: - xorg on radeon r200 is extremely unstable in karmic + [r200] xorg crashes in _mesa_PopAttrib() -- [r200] xorg crashes in _mesa_PopAttrib() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451514 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
