Can you please attach /var/log/installer/dm after you select "Install Ubuntu" and it brings you to the live environment.
Also, does removing "quiet splash" from the kernel command line fix the bug for you? Select a language at the CD boot screen, then hit F6 followed by Escape. Delete "quiet splash" from the line that appears and hit enter.
