I have found something:
it seems that it's not being able to set proper brightness, when it is inside 
the X server, and than it tries and retries.

if I do: printf 100 > /proc/acpi/video/IGD/LCD/brightness
it does not work. If I do cat of the file don't see the value that I tried to 
input.

But, if I switch to console (ctrl+alt+Fxx), and I run:  printf 100 > 
/proc/acpi/video/IGD/LCD/brightness
then it works. 
Now I do cat of the file and I have the value that I've put inside.

Then I switch back to F7 and everything is ok (until I try to set
brightness again).
