Hi, I' v experienced the same thing with an evolution 2.28.0 and 2.26.1 (ubuntu karmic / kde 4.3.2) but not at start of it's usage.
By deduction i was thinking of disabling all plugins, and after sorting plugins by enabling them one after one i found that was the "models" plugin make evolution crash. In French language it's named "Modèles" Error message from console when right-clicking and "models" plugin enable: camel:ERROR:camel-mime-message.c:430:camel_mime_message_get_subject: assertion failed: (mime_message) Abandon (core dumped) I can't send an error report cause of my setup ...
