When I reported this problem, I was on firefox 3.5.3+build1+nobinonly- 0ubuntu3, as the report indicates. I then went to Shiretoko 3.5.5pre and the problem remained. I just removed all versions of Firefox 3.5, and re-installed to 3.5.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu, and the problem has gone away. Whether this action is the result of re-installing the package or a different version, you cannot argue with success.
