sorry for not specifying architecture and OS version. I thought such
details were to be asked separately by the web page, while conversely I
should have included them in my comments.

However, please notice that I am very unconfortable at using  apport-
collect. Apart from somehow misleading errors

You have to allow "Change anything" privileges.

when it had in fact been just allowed to change everything, I think the
tool is inherently problematic.

Why does it ever try to read a file like /etc/network/interfaces that
may contain network passwords?  Had it been able to read the file, would
it have published its content on launchpad without asking? Why does the
tool read and publish without even asking for confirmation about the
data it is going to send?
