It appears that after resuming from suspend, I have to leave my computer on for an entire 24 hours before it checks for updates "daily". Ideally update manager should check for updates immediately after resuming from suspend if 24 hours have passed since the last time the computer was on, and not wait 24 hours. It feels like update manager doesn't realize that time still passes when the computer is suspended.
