Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I'm using Karmic beta.

During boot and also when logged in, also before starting any application, I
have cracking sound coming out of my speakers every some seconds.
More strange, if I switch off the speakers then I can hear the same cracks from
the internal speakers (it's an HP laptop) even if the jack is plugged in. Seems
like something electrical, but must be caused by some software problem as the
problem is not present on Windows neither it was on Jaunty (though I switched
off Pulseaudio, IIRC).
