Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
* Testing Ubuntu 9.10 Beta; Oct 15th
* Installed MPlayer using Synaptic; while installing Mozilla-MPlayer plug-in
(3.55-2Ubuntu1) Synaptic forces installation of Firefox 3.0.14 as a missing
dependency.... and I believe the default Ubuntu 9.10 image has Firefox 3.5 out
of the box
I did not not do anything else in test system besides installing 9.10 and
running Update Manager to update the OS
All software installations were being done in Synaptic
I don't remember Mozilla-MPlayer forcing an installation on any of the
latest Ubuntu versions.....and Firefox was already installed but this
plug-in forced installation of an older browser version....what
gives?????
