You don't have a /var/log/apt/term.log.1.gz? The logfile you've attached is clearly truncated, because something had to happen /before/ this to put grub in an inconsistent state, and /var/log/apt/term.log.1.gz is where the standard rotation policy would put this old log.
If the log is really not there anymore, then we have no other option than to close this bug report as invalid.
