no switch to text mode during bootup
4)
I see the switch into graphical mode, with a pulsating ubuntu logo.
During boot, the text "Starting boot logger bootlogd" appears - and this
text causes a switch to text mode.
The system switches back to graphical mode, launching GDM and allowing
login but having the switch from text (initial boot), to graphical
(pulsating logo), to text (starting boot logger) and then finally
graphical is somewhat jarring.
eve[~]% cat /etc/default/bootlogd
# Run bootlogd at startup ?
