Hello Leann- I have got my 9.04 install working with the new kernel, reboot works normally without the workaround. I updated and verified /boot/grub/grub.cfg (GRUB 2 from my 9.10 install controls the boot process) does not force reboot=b and I also did the same with menu.lst just to be safe.
