Public bug reported:

The file /etc/network/interfaces in karmic beta is invalid, I needed to
delete all lines keeping only two in order to use my ethernet
connection.

new /etc/network/interfaces:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

If I don't change this, right clicking in the network-manager applet, in
the "Redes cableadas" (wired networks) section I see "Dispositivo no
gestionado" (unmanaged device).

Also, after change the file, continues impossible to connect to my adsl
account configuring from the same applet.
