Although there is another issue here, the size of the log files made it
difficult for the user to get help.  Even with the logs compressed the
forums wouldn't permit uploading the file.  Logs this size hinder
troubleshooting, and can mask other problems by using up all available
storage space.

I recommend setting a default size limit using logrotate.
Ubuntuforums has a limit of 976.6Kb for attachments.  Email typically has a 
limit of 10M.

Another idea would be to implement a notification for when the log size
is abnormally high.  Currently the only notification that something was
wrong was that there was no free space on the drive.
