Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hplip

I have a PSC 1315v (which is identified as the PSC 1310 Series by HPLIP)
and while the printing is working well, and previously the Scanning part
was as well, it no longer does in Feisty.

After searching on the web, I found this same bug report, which seems to
be a problem with HPLIP 1.7.1 http://www.mail-archive.com/hplip-
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg02343.html

Basically I can change the /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat file
so that there is a trailing _ on the section that specifies
psc_1310_series. If I do that, then Gnome print will still print, and
Xsane will detect my scanner and work. The issue lies in that if I do
so, then none of the HP tools will work, because it then doesn't see
that the printer / scanner is there.

This wouldn't be an issue, except that is where I check to see my ink
levels.

Currently this looks like perhaps an issue between udev and hplip, as
the device itself is detected and set up as psc_1310_series_ (or in udev
it states it as "psc 1310 series " note the trailing space). I'm just
posting this so that the Ubuntu team is aware of the bug as well as the
HPLIP team. Doesn't look like there is a fix quite yet.

Thank you.
