AR5005G 802.11abg NIC (rev 01) ) When problem appeared: After upgrade from Ubuntu Dapper to Ubuntu Edgy What happens: System > Admin > Network , [Wireless Connection] -> [properties] There is a field named ESSSID: which is both a dropdown menu and a textfield. While in Ubuntu Dapper it used to list the available networks for the user to choose from, currently the dropdown list is empty. BUT if you type manually the ESSID in the textbox, it works. Note that the available networks are detectable within the terminal, by typing "iwlist scan", it is just the GUI that doesn't displays them
