I also have the same problem with the Ubuntu 6.06 live CD, an LG L1730S and a graphics card detected as a Radeon R200 QL (not sure about this)
On boot the resolution selected is 640 by 480 and the screen resolution utility does not let me change it from this. I resolved this as follows: * Press Ctrl - Alt - F1 to switch to a text mode shell. * Type sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg - the default settings worked for me. * Press Ctl - Alt- F7 to return to graphics mode * Press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to reboot the xserver. Please find attached the request information. cheers, Stu -- X chooses vesa driver for an ATI Radeon X300 https://launchpad.net/bugs/44924 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
