Binary package hint: revelation
Appeared on Ubuntu Feisty - Herd 4 with latest updates om AMD64
architecture.
When I tried installing Revelation after all updates for Feisty applied
at feb 17, 22:58 (CET) it gives me the following error when starting up:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/revelation", line 33, in ?
import gettext, gnome, gobject, gtk, gtk.gdk, os, pwd, sys
ImportError: No module named gnome
I had some problems before this because gnome-crypto gives an error when
installing. I'm not sure how I managed to overcome that problem but
there were some other python updates just a couple of hours ago. Then
the gnome-crypto error disappeared when starting Revelation and now it
produces this.
There is however a very easy workaround to get Revelation up and running:
- Open /usr/bin/revelation
- Change the first line from: #!/usr/bin/env python2.4 to #!/usr/bin/env
python2.5
- Save the file
And revelation works!
