Am having similar problems with an Intel 2.8GHX board.... At 77-C am
getting waaay too many messages from the kernel, and can't even break in
to kill the machine. Have filled up the root directory twice in the
last two days. After restarting the machine (and blowing all the dust
out of CPU and other spots) the temp seemed to be settling down to
around 37-C. It came down from 46-C so was heading in the right
direction. Then within 5 minutes, the temp was back up to 77-C. I
didn't get a chance to look at the fan RPM but it was ok when I
restarted the machine... around 2670 rpm and looking good.
