So, if it is our choosing, we don't have to do anything. You are making a request, please treat it as such and respect our requests.
No, this would not make it into Karmic. It's been made very clear that unless it is a very critical bug there will not be any more updates to Humanity in Karmic until after release. In addition, this will not affect the majority of users who will stay with the 48px icons. I don't understand why you are so upset about this.
