Alexey, I tried putting that file into /etc/hal/fdi/information but it doesn't do anything.
It's interesting because suspend worked fine with the fglrx drivers, so I am thinking that this is definitely a problem with the open source ati drivers. I think when Karmic comes out I will switch back to the 9.10 fglrx drivers, as I have heard these fix a number of issues with dual screen support, which is why I changed to open source drivers in the first place. Hopefully the 9.10 fglrx drivers will fix both my dual screen and suspend issues.
