I am running karmic latest update on an amd athlon 1800 xp, Creative
audigy 2 sound blaster, 2gb dual channel ddr1 ram, and an ati radeon
r300 [9500pro]. I have an encrypted home directory and a sand-boxed
Firefox. Apon using the rc and adding packages nautilus fails randomly.
Also rhymbox, software center, movieplayer, brasero and emphathy refuse
to start. Synaptic works and I tried completely removing these and
reinstalling but with no luck getting them to work. When using the beta
all the customizations caused no harms to these apps. However apon
running the latest partial upgrade it did. So I reinstalled using the rc
from softpedia. I installed ubuntu tweak and the following repos:
Chromium browser, Ubuntu Mozilla security, google and google testing,
mediabuntu, midori, opera, openshot, ubuntu tweak, webkit gtk. I also
installed a deb for realplayer 11 to test it out. Though the previous
mess up I did not get real the problem seem to occurred (or at least I
noticed it at real) So I tried removing it and all its dependencies with
janitor. did no good. However I use the same repos in juanty with no
problems. Of course I have the karmic repos. The plethera of programs I
installed work but not the ones mentioned. I also have the microsoft
core fonts and lib dvd css and many other codecs. (These did not cuase
the issue.) I do not wish to spend hours with a reinstall and would like
these fixed. The same programs fail together evertime so I know it is
related. (Please exuse typos I have work do today and am in a hurry)
