Anyway, I think I should also point out that I have an NVidia GeForce
8400M GT graphics card, using the proprietary drivers. However, I was
under the impression that usplash used Vesa, so I don't think the driver
can be at fault. In fact, the console output shows that the nvidia
driver is one of the last things to load before [X]splash starts, so it
isn't even ready in time for usplash.
