Public bug reported:
1. Download ISO image from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/feisty/herd-4/feisty-desktop-i386.iso
.
2. Burn to CD using K3b with MD5 checksum (3de5da625407ef85be3ef54d98cf07f3)
verification.
3. Reboot w/ CD in drive.
4. Select either normal start/installation option or start in safe graphics
mode option from CD menu
5. Desktop comes up distorted diagonally.
System is a 2006 Acer Travelmate 8204 with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600
graphics card. Had same problem with Edgy Eft. Last version that
worked was 6.06, which I've been using on this laptop since that version
was released.
