Okay, I've been trying the Ubuntu distribution. I didn't much care for the Network Monitor - the concept of having to reconfigure every time for each connection - even wireless - on a portable laptop didn't appeal to me. So, I tried NetworkManager.
The NetworkManager applet icon did not display the info mentioned in this thread - but I have a new problem. In trying to configure the upper panel - where the applet icon lives - I managed to accidentally remove the icon. Now, I cannot find a way to reconfigure and get the icon back. That means I cannot reconfigure for new connections. Any suggestions? -- NetworkManager Applet icon should indicate network activity, like Network Monitor Applet https://launchpad.net/bugs/82225 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
