Public bug reported:
I tried upgrading to Karmic RC after it had been release from a Jaunty
installation. The installation failed and left the system unbootable after the
boot-scripts in busybox was unable to mount the root partition.
Running the Karmic RC live CD I have now discovered that Karmic cannot
read the partitions on my harddrives. The drives are available as
/dev/sd[a,b] and cfdisk can read the partition table properly, the
partitions however are not available as devices under /dev.
