The workaround is to make a minimal xorg.conf file with just the text
below:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Driver "nvidia"
EndSection
** Changed in: nvidia-settings (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) => RJARRRPCGP (rjarrrpcgp)
