If you want to use pulseaudio for all audio, you will need to configure the phonon backend to use pulseaudio as the audio output. How this is done exactly I am not sure, but I believe its somewhere in KDE's settings for audio. Sorry I can't help with this exactly, since I am not a KDE user.
