Public bug reported:
I have a RME HDSPe PCI-Expresscard which cannot be used in Ubuntu.
My hardware: Lenovo T400 (Model: 2765-21G)
I tried several versions of Ubuntu (all amd64): 9.04, 9.10, 8.04,
UbuntuStudio 9.04 and I've had the interface plugged during the whole
os-installation process so that it should recognize the hardware and
load the modules (?). Instead, everytime the device is plugged and I
look into the syslog or run "dmesg" I get:
[ 266.618504] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: Card not present on Slot(3)
[ 266.631059] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: Card present on Slot(3)
[ 266.739662] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: Card not present on Slot(3)
[ 266.752186] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: Card present on Slot(3)
...this goes on for a long time... and finally:
[ 270.356596] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: No new device found
[ 270.356603] pciehp 0000:00:1c.3:pcie02: Cannot add device at 0000:05:00
...and then again like above...repeating forever.
First I thought it might be a problem of the interface, but I got it working on
my machine under: Windows 7 and Fedora 10. Then I tried it on a friends' Dell
Laptop with ubuntu 9.04 and he didn't get those messages. I tried a usb-hub in
my expresscard slot and it worked. Maybe it is related to this bug? #380588
It didn't affect my problem if I cold- or hotplug it.
If you need any additional infos let me know!
Thanks!
Martin
