Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-alsamixer

I'm running Ubuntu Karmic RC, Soundcards used are AC97 (Realtek) and SB
Audigy2 (PCMCIA).

When starting gnome-alsamixer, I get this message:

Bad key or directory name: "/apps/gnome-alsamixer/display_mixers/«:
Key/directory may not end with a slash (/)
Bad key or directory name: "apps/gnome-alsamixer/display_names/«: Key/directory
may not end with a slash (/)

As far as I know, this is an old Bug that was fixed before in Feisty.
The Bug was that gconf is not able to have different characters in it's
Key like " \t\r\n\"$&<>,+=#!()'|{}[]?~`;%\\".

See here:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429012

And here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-alsamixer/+bug/106903

It would be very good if this could be fixed on the Final Release.

** Affects: gnome-alsamixer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
