Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

The software was working properly until yesterday, then suddenly it changed and
it's not fixed by restarting the computer.
Character "e" (only "e") is now assigned to a shortcut and I can't type it.
This is only in Evolution (French version) and doesn't happen in other software.
I have found that it happened to at least another person, there is a thread
about this in the French Ubuntu forum (but no solution).

Thanks for looking into it
