Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

After opening Empathy, the power icon next to your name in the upper
right hand corner is changed to a chat bubble.

If you close Empathy, the /usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5 process
is still running even though you are not running Empathy.

You have to manually kill /usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5 to get
the power icon back.
