Just had precisely the same issue under the RC for 9.10 Karmic on my
Toshiba Satellite Pro U200.
On resume the screen was blank, barring a steady cursor at the top left,
and the Caps Lock LED was flashing. I had to perform a forced shutdown
and restart, which resulted in being prompted to submit a bug report,
which I've done.
