Sorry; Wrong description.
GDM tries to start and fails with the mentioned errormessage. ("Xserver could
not be started - do you want to see the output?" -> Yes)
Then the known message about "XServer is now deactivated. Restart GDM when
configured correctly." -> OK
KDM starts.
