Sound works for me in Rhythmbox. System sounds work as well. The only application affected seems to be DVD playback in Totem Movie Player.
Hardware: HP Mini 110 Netbook running Karmic Koala release candidate. DVD drive is an external USB drive. Music CDs play from this drive.
