Thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This
seems, indeed, related to coreutils/GNULib, but I am unsure on *where*
cp could give out this error.
1. Please check, via 'mount' what FS you are running this under.
2. Also, just in case, please add here the output of 'file <blah>', where
<blah> is the filenames you are trying to copy.
And we will go from there.
