More info:     I have been tsting the HP 2.0MP webcm on skype 2.1.
Ubuntu 9.10 is able to detect the microphone function of the HP cam and
can be used in skype and other apps.  But video does not work in skype.
It may be connected to the resolution that the camera is currently set.
Unfortunately I dont know how to change the camera resolution other than
what the GUI offers.  The devise is also not identified properly as seen
below:
