As a matter of fact, my Apparmor problems broke enough apps that i did a new Ubuntu jaunty install a few days after posting the ticket. Since then, i've left Apparmor at it's barest install defaults and don't consider touching it; my initial experiences with controlling it were too bruising.
Thank you very much for following up with my ticket. I know you guys work very very hard to make it right. Ubuntu is my primary OS because I love it, and AA is a sound concept that is implemented very well, if uniquely. I'd like to see it work, but that will have to wait until I upgrade.
