I'm adding this from the installation disk - I have not yet rebooted.
VERY long wait at 85% complete on the installation, finally completed,
but the crash report symbol appeared in the upper tray (next to the
clock, etc.). Apport claimed that this was a duplicate bug but
suggested I add anything that I could think of, so here it is:

Ubuntu 9.10 RC valid iso burned to disk on 10-28-09, installation started
10-29-09 at approximately 7:00 AM MST (07:00 UTC-7 or 14:00 UTC). MD5SUM
checked on iso prior to burning.
