Could you please consider adding lyx-gtk version which integrates into
Gnome desktop much better? I have successfully installed an aliened
version:

lyx-gtk 1.4.1-2
lyx-common 1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1
(also installed lyx-qt 1.4.1-1.lyx.org.1, lyx-xforms 1.4.0-1.lyx.org.1 +
libaiksaurus from Ubuntu)

which needs also some libraries not available in Ubuntu repositories:

libglademm 2.5.1-3
libglibmm 2.4-1_2.6.1-3.1
libgtkmm 2.4-1_2.6.4-1.1

The only bug encountered in lyx-gtk is lack of support for displaying
iso8859-2 encoded characters (displayed as latin1) - but the qt version
does this correctly and dvi generated from gtk version is ok too.
Manually setting language and font/encoding in .lyx/preferences doesn't
help. (setting in Document and Tools menus didn't help of course)

\screen_zoom 120
\screen_font_roman "Times New Roman"
\screen_font_sans "Arial"
\screen_font_typewriter "Courier"
\screen_font_encoding "iso8859-2"
\use_input_encoding true
\default_language czech
