Ubuntu was upgraded from version 9.04 which worked okay.
The problem is the computer will not turn off when selecting shut down.
I have to use the power button for a hard shut down.
The computer attempts to shut down but hangs up on the black screen.
The last line of the text displayed on the screen is as follows:
