** Description changed:

  Using 9.10 Karmic Final.

  Kernel problem in 2.6.31-14-generic

Received this in apport in the notification area. This was after an
unsuccessful suspend attempt. The machine entered suspend fine. I left
it be for a day, and tried to wake it up, but it just sat with a
deactivated display and did nothing, not even hard disk access. In order
to restart, the machine required a hard reset, as in, holding the power
  button down.

As far as I know, my memory is good.

I did have this problem with suspend with Jaunty also. I think my
  hardware isn't fully supported.

Hibernate DOES work correctly, though. Worked in Jaunty, too.

  A little about my hardware:

  HP Pavilion m7500y
  ASUS P5LP-LE (Leucite) Motherboard
  Pentium D 820 2.8GHz
  Nvidia 8500GT
Unknown 160GB SATA drive (Ubuntu), WD 160GB PATA Drive converted to SATA
(Windows XP Media Center)
+ Atheros PCI Wi-Fi Card (now, I've had trouble with this thing in Jaunty with
hard panics every few days and whatnot, but it doesn't seem to be bothering my
in Karmic yet, I haven't had a crash since beta.)
  Soundblaster Audigy 4 (not pro)
  Saitek Cyborg Keyboard
  Logitech MX Revolution
  Various USB gadgets

Here is the oops on kerneloops.org:
  http://www.kerneloops.org/submitresult.php?number=869169

  Expected: Suspend works correctly.

Actual: Suspend puts computer into a coma; needs hard reset. On the
following boot, apport says there was a kernel problem.

  ProblemType: KernelOops
