Binary package hint: compiz
With 9.04 I had visual effects set to normal for my wife and turned off
for myself so that Google Earth would look right. After I upgraded my
wife's account would lockup the second she touched anything with the
mouse. At first we thought it was a problem with the Japanese language
pack since failsafe mode worked. However after trying a few things we
found that turning off visual effects solved the problem.
So while they worked before, they don't work now.
