Thanks for your bugreport and sorry for the trouble with the upgrade.

>From the maintainance shell you can check if you can run "dpkg
--configure -a" and then "apt-get install -f" to get get a working
system back. You may have to run "mount -o remount,rw /". This will only
work if it manages to mount "/". If not, then you will have to mount it
manually via "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt ; chroot /mnt"

If you manage to get to the system (alternatively you can use the live
cd for this). Please attach the logs in /var/log/dist-upgrade/*
