I think I suffer on the same issue, the only way for me to get sound is
to open the terminal and to execute this:
sudo alsa force-reload
afterwards I get the sound, Everything is working than correctly, only
the internal microphone volume have to be adjusted.
Skpe is than also working correctly with the the pulse audio mixer.
Is there a way to have script with the command at start-up after pulse
is loaded? It will fix here the issue with detecting Alsa correctly.
It looks to me that Pulse does not detect the Alsa correctly
