Unfortunatelly the solution proposed above does not work in my Ubuntu 9.10. I have: Bus 002 Device 012: ID 04b8:0849 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus SX205 but scanimage -L always shows: sudo scanimage -L device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname Lenovo EasyCamera virtual device
It seems that udev does not recognize the scanner after plugged-in. Nevertheless printer with cups runs like a charm. ls -l /dev/usb*lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 2009-10-31 16:49 /dev/usblp0 -> usb/lp0 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 0 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon0 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 1 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon1 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 2 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon2 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 3 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon3 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 4 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon4 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 5 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon5 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 6 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon6 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 7 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon7 crw-rw---- 1 root root 253, 8 2009-10-31 17:12 /dev/usbmon8 /dev/usb: razem 0 crw-rw-r-- 1 root lp 180, 0 2009-10-31 16:49 lp0 tail -f /var/log/messages Oct 31 16:49:35 calvados kernel: [ 2242.122598] usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 14 Oct 31 16:49:35 calvados kernel: [ 2242.280449] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Oct 31 16:49:35 calvados kernel: [ 2242.288038] usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 14 if 1 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04B8 pid 0x0849 Oct 31 16:49:35 calvados kernel: [ 2242.289877] scsi13 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Oct 31 16:49:37 calvados kernel: [ 2243.665507] usb 2-1: usbfs: interface 1 claimed by usblp while 'usb' sets config #1 Oct 31 16:49:39 calvados udev-configure-printer: Re-enabled printer ipp://localhost:631/printers/Stylus-SX200 Oct 31 16:49:40 calvados kernel: [ 2247.295387] scsi 13:0:0:0: Direct-Access EPSON Stylus Storage 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 Oct 31 16:49:40 calvados kernel: [ 2247.296012] sd 13:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0 Oct 31 16:49:40 calvados kernel: [ 2247.303208] sd 13:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk -- Epson sx200 sx205 scanner not detected by sane https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/394528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
