Masthomm775, Due to a package bug, you are still running the Karmic kernel (2.6.28) instead of the Jaunty kernel (2.6.31). If you boot into the Jaunty kernel, the sound should be fine. You can try 'sudo upgrade-grub' and that should set the correct kernel to boot into by default.
