Public bug reported:
I keep trying an failing to upgrade to Karmic. Each time it starts,
SPENDS a HALF HOUR CONFIGURING, then finds something like I need to free
up a few megabytes of disk space and ENDS AND UNDOES EVERYTHING IT DID
SO I HAVE TO SPEND ANOTHER HALF HOUR JUST TO GET TO THE SAME POINT.
My network isn't connected. Some archive is off. It refuses to
acknowledge I have a cd-rom so it insists on downloading several
megabytes...
Usually it gives me NO information as to how to fix the problem.
I find it hard to believe that no one has figured out how to add RETRY
so I can try to fix the problem, then hit retry and not waste several
hours trying to anticipate what it is going to ask for on the next
probably futile attempt.
