Perhaps this will help in diagnosing the problem. I know very little about linux and Ubuntu, so I apologize if this is improperly formatted or not useful. This is a section of my kern.log from the point at which I most recently tried to suspend my computer.
I'm using an HP Pavilion dv4 laptop. I've used previous versions of Ubuntu and have not had this problem, and I am still able to use the hibernate feature. I've updated my system every day that I've used Ubuntu, and I've tried reinstalling all packages related to ACPI with no effect. ** Attachment added: "From my kern.log when I tried to suspend" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34798325/kern.log.txt -- fails to enter suspend mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
