Thanks for the help folks. With Xzan's additional steps (& SixedUp's tweak), I think the hotkeys are working normally now on my T43.
Will try on my T60p when I upgrade it, but for now I think we have a band-aid. A little puzzling as to why this OSD functionality for Thinkpads has been shaky for the past two releases.
